Born
in the town of San Dona’ di Piave in Italy, Gloria studied art at
the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. After graduating with a
Master’s Degree in Stage Design, she worked as a Stage Designer with
various theatrical companies, taught art in Italy and created works
in her specialty areas of charcoal and oil painting.
After
moving to California, Gloria continued her work as an artist and art
teacher, including private instruction and as a teacher of Italian
culture at Stanford University. Now living in Colorado Springs,
Gloria provided artistic direction for a large scale mural at Steele
Elementary School. She is also the founding “Artist-in-Residence”
and grant recipient for an innovative new art program in Colorado
Springs School District 11. Under her guidance, students at North
Middle School produced a large mural in the entry hall and stairway
of their School. She has also completed a mixed media, 21’x 9’
mural at Christa McAuliffe Elementary.
Gloria’s works include charcoal, oil, sculpture, murals and, most
recently, Italian floorcloths and faux stone work. Her art has been
exhibited in Italy and California, and can be found in private and
public collections in both countries.
