“I paint for the same reason I travel – to
explore, discover and learn."
Beth Eller paints from her studio in
Denver and while traveling in the U.S. and abroad. Her travels have
exposed her to numerous people, cultures and landscapes. These
experiences influence what she tries to communicate in her painting
and drive her to continuously search for new ways of looking at the
world. She strives to capture her reaction to those glimpses in
time.
Currently, Eller is working on a
series of paintings of water from various places in the world to
show the many types of moods, movements and reflections water can
create. Other works by Eller involve cutting a finished oil
painting, repositioning the pieces and then attaching them to
another canvas. During the reassembly, each painting takes on a
different character and she discovers things that lead her in new
and different directions – much like traveling when one encounters
the unexpected by taking a less traveled or unplanned route.
Eller has paintings in private and
corporate collections in the United States and Europe as well as in
the permanent collection at the University of Denver. She is also a
member of professional artists Studio 208 in Denver’s RiNo art
district.
